Liquid Casing® Fine Product Description Liquid Casing® Fine is a fine micro-crystalline product specially processed to produce a seepage and loss circulation material which can be used in both water and oil based muds. The key features of the product is the wide range of fine particle sizes. The sizes are approximately in the range of 1-500 microns with a median size of 60-170 microns. The wide size range ensures that all fractures or pore throats are sealed and the product can be used through any configuration of drilling or coring string. It may be added to the mud or completion brine and used in the circulating system. Mode of Action
Liquid Casing® Fine is produced by a unique mechanical process. Liquid Casing® Fine is pressed into the pore spaces to be blocked by the application of pressure to the calculated ECD. The fluid loss function of a normal drilling fluid additive further enhances the almost absolute seal that is formed. Migration of formation damaging fines from wellbore fluids is virtually eliminated. Reversal of the pressure, as when the well is brought on stream, blows the filter-cake off easily due to the high pressure gradient generated because of very limited filtrate invasion. This ensures rapid clean up and minimizes formation damage. The fine size and relatively large surface area can be exploited to provide a means of chemically removing the particles from the formation. Functions: - HELPS PREVENT DIFFERENTIAL STICKING
- REDUCES WALL CAKE PERMEABILITY
- SEALS OFF DEPLETED SANDS AND MICRO FRACTURES
- PREVENTS SEEPAGE LOSS
- COMPATIBLE IN OIL MUDS
- HELPS LOGGING AND CASING RUN SMOOTHLY
- BIODEGRADABLE AND NONTOXIC
- TEMPERATURE STABLE 400+.
- DOES NOT AFFECT RHEOLOGY OF THE MUD
- REDUCES DRAG AND TORQUE
Liquid Casing® Coarse Product Description Liquid Casing® Coarse is a severe loss circulation additive that can be used in oil or water based muds. It is similar in composition to Liquid Casing® Fine, but the particles are large and designed to treat the more severe loss circulation. The material passes through 1/4" (6,350 microns) dry screen and will not block the jets of the bit, and mud motors. It provides excellent loss circulation control without damaging rheology in all conventional drilling fluids. It is non-damaging to formation and can be pumped through most sizes of bit nozzles without blocking. Mode of Action The mode of action of Liquid Casing® Coarse is similar to Liquid Casing® Fine in which the range of particle size is increased. The Liquid Casing® Coarse interlocks and swells in the fluids to form an efficient seal which increases in efficiency as the pressure increases.
